Shiv Bari Temple (6 Km) From Bikaner Fortified with high walls the temple dedicated to lord Shiva was constructed by Maharajah Doongar Singhji, in 19th century. The temple has some beautiful paintings and a Nandi Bull facing the Shiva Lingam Devi Kund (8 Km.) From Bikaner The royal crematorium several exquisite cenotaphs were built in memory of the rulers of Bikaji dynasty. Maharajah Surat Singh’s Chhatri is beautifully made of white marble, and is a piece of great architecture; the Rajput paintings adorn the ceiling of the cenotaph. Kolayatji (50 Km.) From Bikaner An ancient pilgrimage center, with a temple of Kapil Muni of the Vedic period, he shed his body under a Peepal Tree. It is a congregation of many magnificent temples with sandstone pavilions and Ghats (bathing places) built around the artificial lake. Rated among the best museums in the state, it has a rich collection of antiquities from Harappan civilization, Gupta and Kushan era etc. A separate section for arts & crafts and a beautiful collection of Painting, Weaponary, Terracotta, Pottery, Carpets and Coins etc. are displayed. Note: Timing 10 AM to 4.30 PM & closed on Fridays and Govt. Holidays.
Raj Ratan Bihari & Rasik Siromani Temple The 19th century temple was built by Ratan Singhji and Sardar Singhji in the mansion style of architecture. The temple is situated inside Ratan Bihari Park. Bikaner Havelis The camel country abounds in beautiful Havelis and mansions belonging to the business houses, these are beautiful structures in red stone richly decorated with intricate carvings. The notable havelies belong to Khotaris, Rampuriyas, Vaidhyas and Dagas. |
